The iconic Beetle stands against the winds of change, and retains its unique charms generation after generation. With the exception of the performance oriented R-Line model, all of the bugs will be equipped with a 1.8 L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The peppier R-Line possesses a more robust 2.0 L turbo engine with an output of 210 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with 6 speed automatic transmissions.
Your standard Beetle may look delicate; but this bug is protected by seven stability-enhancing systems and comes standard with Intelligent Crash Response System, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Traffic Alert, and Park Pilot. The 2017 Beetle upholds a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA (out of a possible five stars).
